I feel it started off well, then collapsed towards the end as I ran out time. I think it was probably a combination of having too much to do and the idea being changed numerous times and sometimes without me or Chelsea being consulted. I found myself, on a few occasions, half way through something and being told to scrap it after the idea had been changed over night, but wasn't communicated.
Overall, I'm pleased with my contribution to the group, although more so the layouts than the animations. I'm much stronger with art than animation, therefore was a bit hesitant to do the screaming girl. However, I think I did a lot better than I thought I'd do. I really would have liked to do all of the layouts, rather than the character design, animation and just colouring the layouts. I found it difficult to be able to spread my workload out evenly, but I also found it a little helpful in that I could switch to a different piece of work if I became frustrated with the animation.

Interior layout long shot and Laura's bedroom
I'm surprised at how quickly I managed to colour these in. I feel I've done alright on them and they fit in with Chelsea's exterior layout style.

Productive day
On tuesday, Chelsea and I agreed that in order to aid continuity, that one of us should do the line drawing of the layouts and the other should only do the painting. As Chelsea had already designed the mid shot of the window, I thought it would be best just to carry on with her doing the drawings. I've found that our painting styles aren't too dissimilar, which is fortunate as she has already done the exterior layout, it wasn't so much of a problem to match colours and technique.
Chelsea devised a colour pallet to help keep my colours and tones consistent or similar with hers.

Below is Chelsea's original drawing:
Below is my final painting focusing on direction of light and woodgrain texture.
Today, I also managed to get a large amount of the animation planning done which is a big relief.

layout design so far...
Steve needed the door that Bosko breaks through, in order to animate that scene. So I've painted one full door, one door that has a hole in it and one door that is totally broken in photoshop. I added in textures, shadows and highlights to increase a sense of depth and think it turned out well.
Overall, I'm pleased with this style and like the idea of mixing realism with a simpler style. Chelsea and Steve don't seem to oppose it, so I've given them to Steve telling him he is free is change anything if needs be.
After this, I started to plan the scream animation... also am preparing myself for anything else that could need to be done!

Post 3- indifference
I've agreed to take on some of the animating to help out Steve and I'm going to animate the woman screaming as she sees Bosko break through the door. I'm also going to draw some of the layouts with Chelsea and give them all to her to colour as well. I'm not too sure how this will work, as I thought we were going to each choose a specific area to work in, but I feel it's as i predicted and everyone is helping everyone else. I don't mind this, although I'm thinking it might cause problems with continuity and complications with editing. We all talked to each other about this and Steve seems fairly indifferent about our views and his own!
I"m pretty sure I'm flexible enough to deal with Steve's uncertainties and ever changing directions, so it should all be ok!
